Changes to our outlook

Just a quick post about the house move which has gone extremely slow and quiet this week. We haven't had a single letter about our move these last 7 days but the surveyor finally came to do a valuation on our home for our buyer and he has now got his mortgage arranged! Apparently, according to our estate agent, the chances of us departing the town for the rural won't be happening before April now as searches are taking a long time to come through.

Update on the building work next to our house. The rather scary and menacing looking digger/grabber arrived on Friday to start demolishing the building, starting with the roof and innards. The walls are still remaining, although shortened, just hope they don't tumble. Also gentleman in charge of building the new flats appeard on my doorstep on Monday afternoon saying he'd lost my phone number and had driven down from Bedford to tell me the new shed and gate he'd kindly agreed to build for us would be done on Wednesday. I was pretty impressed with that. The chippy arrived on Wednesday morning to introduce himself and then promptly put up a shed and gate from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with no break. Not bad ah? We've had to clear all the junk and Billy from the shed so the house looks an absolute tip with garden furniture, hay, mower and all those garden bits and pieces stuffed into unused corners, including the downstairs toilet. Billy's enjoying his stay on the kitchen sofa though!

Nasty grabber attacking during Saturday lunchtime!
Just hope our resident blackbirds haven't yet decided to nest in the greenery.

That's a scary grabber! Moving does take a while - you'll get there in the end :)

Oh isn't it awful getting solicitors, surveyors and estate agents to do something!

Good luck!
